White Estate Sauvignon Blanc

Region

Marlborough, New Zealand

Tasting Notes

Refreshing citrus aromas of lemon and grapefruit, with notes of green bell pepper and tomato leaf. On the palate citrus, blackcurrant and bell pepper flavors result in a wine that is refreshingly crisp with a dry finish. Classic Marlborough aromatics and purity with a very balanced acidity.

Harvest

Our vineyards had a very smooth start to the growing season. Winter and Spring saw higher than average rainfall, which settled for the flowering period and helped the fruit to set. Summer temperatures were higher than average and in February and March it cooled down, which assisted to have a long and slow ripening period. Perfect conditions for flavor development and to retain acid levels.

Wine Making

The juice was fermented between 14°C - 16°C using a variety of classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc yeasts. This resulted in the final product having a distinct varietal definition, fruit purity and a textured palate. After fermentation we left the wine on light lees to mature in tank to ensure texture and complexity, then we racked, blended and filtered the wine before bottling.
